Most often, Black History recounts separate incidents, or those who made significant accomplishments. I did the timeline, to have a context of these events, and the background, or what they were about.
I discovered a history that has rarely been reviewed, or discussed. Constitutional Laws and Court Rulings impacted our daily lives and freedom struggles from the beginning of slavery.
This book is a testimony on what happened here. It took half of my life to research because I had to stop many times. My conclusion was that the suppression of the black race was continuously managed through the law. The information provided will bear this out; and you can better understand it all, after finishing the book.

Constance has done an incredible job of compiling information, which spans about 500 years. Yet, this compilation has turned out to be neat and coherent. I discerned a common pattern in the treatment of Blacks as one generation gave way to the next. The narrative is clear, simple, and informative. At no time did I struggle to understand the author’s line of thought.
What I love most about this book is its liberal store of information. Now, I have a better grasp of Black history and court rulings that have both direct and indirect impacts on current events. Its moderate size of 135 pages allows for comprehensive documentation of relevant information. The laws, rulings, and events that were listed are provided with specific dates and locations.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was professionally edited and well organized. It enlightened me to the far-reaching effects of laws and court rulings. On page 16, I discovered the court ruling that allowed police killings to go unprosecuted. The index of books also gave me more learning opportunities. I have no dislikes about this book.
